This part of the disk will not be used by the partition so we can shave this part off of the image later. This is because the default root partition size of that image is 11gb regardless if you expand the vm disk in hyper v. Notice that there is a part of the disk unallocated. If you have a swap partition the ubuntu live environment will likely have activated it.
