Java Jpanel Resize Image. I subclass jpanel to overwrite paintcomponent graphics i want to draw an image onto jpanel in a jframe. Originally i initially set the size of the panels then added them to jframe with borderlayout and used pack then when resizing the jframe the panels just stayed the same size which is not what i want.

My purpose is resize the image to suit to the jpanel so make the image as the background of the jpanel then placed jdbtextfield on the jpanel to display and print the customer information the trouble is the image is not visible during the design term so it is very difficult to locate the jdbtextfield on the image this is a bank business we must print the customer infomation to the a4 paper.

To set the initial size of the window but this makes it really tiny as in only showing the word file from the jmenubar. I tried setsize and things like frame pack on the actionlistener event but i cannot seem to get it to resize. This is my code. Thank you for your help.
